Hybrid Open Access Policy

The IJPBS follows hybrid open access policy which has both open access and subscription access publishing model . In  the open access publishing , the articles are online and at free of cost with respective creative commons license towards reusage of the respective article. Published open access articles are indicated in the index, abstracts  or online contents with a respective symbol. Hybrid open access has the features of publishing the article either under open access or subscription model. Both models ensures independent peer review and have been accepted for publication.

Under Hybrid open access ,

An open access publication fees is payable by the author or their research funder. This fee for the article if been paid by the author , the article will be made free open access to both subscribers and for the public under said usage permission from the date of publication and this model of publication is called Gold open access (GOA). The fee for this GOA would be $1250 USD per article.

If the author feels the GOA fee to be unaffordable or non availability of sponsors, then  a part  of GOA  fee can be paid by the author , and the article will be made open access after an embargo period and this model of publication is  called  Green open access (GrOA). This fee would be USD $950 per article. For embargo period kindly visit embargo policy. The subscription fee that author pay for Gold or Green open access makes the article open access which covers the revenue that the journal loses as result of offering our content to non-subscribers for free.

We ensure  articles metadatas and in citation form  will also be published in the subscription model for at respective abstract page which ensures citations . But getting published in Gold open access ensures full text published along with meta datas and in citable form from the date of publishing. Publishing under Green open access ensures the same after the respective embargo period. Authors do not worry about the citation future of their article published in the above said model as their metatags / abstract will be freely available from the date of publishing and this will ensure .

If the author finds difficult or unaffordable paying for GOA  (or)  GrOA access then the article will be published under subscription. For this, subscription  APC  (SAPC) would be charged which is much less than GOA .The fee is USD 315 / manuscript. The article will remain under subscription model until the journal releases for free open access. For details click here

The author will have an option of selecting the mode of publishing their paper in the journal. Once the manuscript is provisionally accepted, then in the acceptance email or in the invoice it will be indicted about the publishing of the manuscript in the subscription model and option will be given to  author for publishing  in Gold open access (GOA)  or Green open access (GrOA). They can communicate to the journal for further process about their option.

In publishing the manuscript under subscription model, basic or minimum fee subscription  processing fee (SAPC ) will be collected and this is to maintain the cost of processing, publishing, maintaining  etc  of article in the journal as it is unpredicted and not sure if the papers published under this model will attract any download in subscription model. Moreover , in order to face the expenses for processing and publishing those article, this fee is charged. It also contributes to the overall sustainability of the journal and the livelihoods of the  staff towards healthy maintenance of the journal.
