Abstract

The active constituents extracted from the several medicinal herbs were identified to have curative properties and therapeutic values on treating many serious diseases. In this present study we have evaluated the ethanol Andrographolide extract of Andrographis paniculata Nees. a medicinal plant showing anticancer activity on HEp2 – Human larynx carcinoma cell lines in-vitro observations. The assay was conducted by MTT method by adding different concentration like 50 to 300 µg / ml of extract against HEp2- Human larynx carcinoma cell lines. The extracts of A.paniculata exhibits a marked dose dependency. Increased concentration has shown reduction of viability and induction of cell apoptosis in HEp2 cell lines.  The outcome of this in-vitro study reveals that A.paniculata extract has an evident therapeutic and significant clinical effect on viability of Human larynx carcinoma cells.
