<title><b>Clinical Pharmacist as a Medication Therapy Specialist in the Management of Type-II Diabetes Mellitus</b></title>
<abstract>In recent few years, diabetes mellitus has become one of the major high alarming health disasters which is accelerated with serious issues of mortality and morbidity. The paper aims to bring a critique of the ongoing corroboration for the role of pharmacists in diabetes care and clairvoyance into what roles pharmacists may carry out into forthcoming. A web-gleaned search viz. JAMA, PUBMED, ELSEVIER, RESEARCH GATE, GOOGLE scholar etc. and some research articles, review papers, conference proceedings, unpublished works were made available for a successful review. Pharmacists play a tremendous role in diabetes .Their main limelight is patient counselling. Patient counselling makes the patient to understand his/her illness, unavoidable life style modifications and the therapeutic approach in a preferable way. Pharmacists provide mandatory information, advice and assistance that helps the patients to take their medications properly. Not having important information can guide a patient mistakenly taking medicine, which may result in adverse reactions. Pharmacists are among the most accessible and trusted health care professionals. Elements like obesity, poor lifestyle can also lead to this disease. For the pharmacist, educating patients is one of the most far-reaching roles in society. Diabetes affects the most in our day to day life by de-escalating the health rank among patients. Presently, health care professionals have become more patient orientated only to show a high therapeutic effect for their patients. Counseling plans consider both pharmacological and non-pharmacological actions. The ultimate goal is to optimize the patient's quality of life. Patient counseling is the main source for achieving pharmaceutical care. The ultimate goal of pharmacists is to encourage the safe and secure use of medications. Clinical drug specialists through medication therapy management can deliver administrations by controlling, recognizing and checking drug related issues looked by the patients. This can contribute in diminishing the predominance of diabetes mellitus and improving the personal satisfaction.</abstract>
