Anti-inflammatory activity of Argyreia nervosa and Coriandrum sativum leaf extracts in experimental animals
Inflammation is body's response to disturb homeostasis caused by infection, injury or trauma resulting in systemic and local effects. The aim of present study is to carry out the combined effect of lessThan i greaterThan Argyreia nervosa lessThan /i greaterThan (AN) and lessThan i greaterThan Coriandrum sativum lessThan /i greaterThan (CS) in animal for anti-inflammatory activity. In separate treatment of lessThan i greaterThan Argyreia nervosa lessThan /i greaterThan shows good anti-inflammatory activity. The lessThan i greaterThan Coriandrum sativum lessThan /i greaterThan also shows same activity but in combination of this leaf extract shows remarkable effect on rise in paw edema. The oxidative stress is increased during the inflammatory condition and separate treatment of these drug have little effect on the SOD, GSH and catalase activity but in combination of these drug shows better effect on the oxidative enzyme. Effect of plant extracts in combination is same as like diclofenac edema. As for the positive and experimental groups, oedematous condition was obviously abated by treatment with diclofenac (10 mg/kg) and AN, CS and Combination (100 mg/kg). From the result, it was concluded that the combination of these two plant extracts had desirable physical characteristics and found to be pharmacologically effective.
