<title>In Vitro Analysis Of Antimicrobial Activity Of Stem Extracts Of Erythrina Variegata L: A Useful Medicinal Plant </title>
<abstract>Antimicrobial activity of methanolic, chloroform, hexane and aqueous stem extracts of  lessThan i greaterThan Erythrina variegata  lessThan /i greaterThan L. were analyzed against nine bacterial pathogens such as  lessThan i greaterThan Salmonella typhi, lessThan /i greaterThan  lessThan i greaterThan  Pseudomonas putida, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella  lessThan /i greaterThan sp. lessThan i greaterThan , Proteus lessThan /i greaterThan  sp. lessThan i greaterThan , Serratia marcescens, Bacillus circulans, Staphyloccus aureus lessThan /i greaterThan  and five fungal pathogens viz. lessThan i greaterThan  Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus fumigatus, Sclerotium lessThan /i greaterThan  sp. lessThan i greaterThan , Rhizopous  lessThan /i greaterThan sp. lessThan i greaterThan , Candida  lessThan /i greaterThan sp. Among all the strains, few strains like Serratia lessThan i greaterThan  marcescens , E.coli,  lessThan /i greaterThan  lessThan i greaterThan Pseudomonas putida lessThan /i greaterThan  lessThan i greaterThan , lessThan /i greaterThan  lessThan i greaterThan  Bacillus circulans lessThan /i greaterThan  was found to be more susceptible strains and among all the solvent extracts methanol showed promising antimicrobial activity. The results obtained in this study suggested that the stem extract of  lessThan i greaterThan Erythrina lessThan /i greaterThan  lessThan i greaterThan  variegate  lessThan /i greaterThan L. have high potential for use in the treatment of diseases caused by these test organisms. </abstract>
