<title>Antimicrobial Activity Of Leaf Extract Of <i>Ocimum Gratissimum</i> L.As An Antiseptic And As Antifungal Agent </title>
<abstract>Antimicrobial activity of leaf extract of  lessThan i greaterThan Ocimum gratissimum  lessThan /i greaterThan L was studied using different solvent like chloroform, acetone, ethanol and water against bacterial strains like  lessThan i greaterThan Bacillus subtilis lessThan /i greaterThan ,  lessThan i greaterThan Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli ,Pseudomonus aeruginosa  lessThan /i greaterThan and fungal strains  lessThan i greaterThan Aspergillus niger lessThan /i greaterThan  and  lessThan i greaterThan Penicillum chrysogenum lessThan /i greaterThan . The antimicrobial activity was determined by disc diffusion method. Out of the four extract used, chloroform and acetone extracts were found to be highly active against  lessThan i greaterThan Staphylococcus aureus  lessThan /i greaterThan and  lessThan i greaterThan Pseudomonas aeruginosa lessThan /i greaterThan </abstract>
